Futures Close Report 27th April 2018

Weather  – US plantings for corn and soybeans seen as being delayed by cold and wet weather across the US Midwest.  CBOT firmer, there was additional support for soybean prices stemming from expectations that the United States will increase its share of the soymeal export market due to shortfalls in Argentina.

Canadian farmers expect to plant 21.4 million acres of canola in 2018, down 7% from a record-high 22.997 million in 2017.  Wheat plantings were put at 25.3 million acres up 12.8%.
