Futures Close Report 8th October
Conditions for winter planting across Europe have been substantially improved by the recent rainfall. Across France farmers have been slow to start planting and as a result may be favouring later planted wheat varieties and spring barley over oilseed rape. Meanwhile US weather conditions with forecast snow, could see further harvest delays. According to USDA 15% of corn and 14% of the soybean crop have been harvested so far – well behind the average pace for the time of year.
