Futures Close Report: 15th May 2017

US Planting progress – Corn 71% planted up from 47% last week and slightly ahead of the 70% five year average.  Soybeans were seen as 32% planted up from 14% last week and in line with the 32% five year average.

Ukraine’s export of rapeseed is likely to jump 60 percent to 1.65 million tonnes in the 2017/18 season as the harvest is expected to be about 70 percent larger than in the previous year (2.03mt up from 1.19mt) according to analyst UkrAgroConsult due to larger plantings and better yields.
