China imports of pork up 76% year on year as the country seeks to balance supply against demand following on from the ASF outbreak which has significantly reduced China’s national pig herd. China have already stated that they have no further plans to increase import tarrifs on US soybeans or pork. Ongoing trade negotiations between China and the US are receiving some positive spin, with Chinese sources reporting a “good outcome” from the most recent round of talks.
