Egypt purchased 240,000 tonnes of wheat in an international purchasing tender on Thursday, with half of that coming from the US –  with Russia and Romania making up the other origins – this added support to US markets with hopes that there may be further opportunities for sales.

Markets will be reacting to escalating tensions in the black sea between Russia and Ukraine in the Kerch strait.

French wheat planting was reported at 97% complete by FranceAgrimer.

China imported 6.53 million tonnes of Brazilian soybeans in October, up from 3.38 million tonnes in the same month last year.  The volume was down on the Sept figure but still represented 94% of total Chinese soybean imports for the period.
