Futures Close Report: 5th January 2018

European Union soft wheat exports in the 2017/18 season that started on 1st July had reached 10.6 million tonnes by 2nd January, down 20% from the 13.3 million tonnes exported by the same stage last season according to EU commission data.   EU wheat exports lagging as a result of stiff overseas competition fuelled by abundant Russian wheat supplies.
