Futures Close Report 7th September

China imported 9.15 million tonnes of soybeans in August, up 14% from July, according to the latest customs data.  Buyers in China continue to buy from Brazil in order to avoid the 25% tariff currently imposed on imports of US Soybeans.   For the first eight months of the year, China brought in 62 million tonnes of soybeans, down 2.1 percent on the same period a year earlier..

US Monthly Supply and Demand report will be released on Wednesday of this week.

President Trump continues to rattle the sabre with threats that he has tariffs ready to go on a further $267 billion worth of Chinese imports to the US.
