Futures Close Report 1st October

FC Stone raised its estimate of the average U.S. 2018 corn yield to 182.7 bushels per acre (bpa), from 177.7 previously. For US Beans 2018 yield was put at 54 bushels per acre up from previous estimate of 53.8.

US Harvest Progress

• US corn 26% harvested up from 16% last week, well ahead of 5 year average pace (17%).  Crop condition rating unchanged at 69%;
• US soybeans 23% harvested up from 14% last week, slightly ahead of 5 year average pace (20%).  Crop condition rating unchanged at 68%;
• US winter wheat was 43% planted up from 28% last week.
