Futures Close Report 5th November 18

USDA crop progress:

• US corn 76% harvested up from 63% last week (77% 5 year average);
• US soybeans 83% harvested up from 72% last week (89% 5 year average);
• Winter wheat 84% planted up from 78% last week (90% 5 year average).

Reports of quality concerns for US Corn with higher levels of Vomitoxin being present  from this years harvest.

US China trade dispute – markets firmer as hopes increase of solutions following positive comments that the Chinese are prepared to negotiate as the dispute rumbles on.
